Lackeyville
I have been officially hired to Crosby UMC as a Seminary Intern. For all intents and purposes, it is a short term youth director/worship leader/henchman kind of role. Sunday is my first day officially. I expect good things.

I have returned
Hello children. Did you miss me?
I have ignored this blog for quite some time. Things have piled up on me over the past few months, and I plan to address them in due time. For now, some updates for those who haven't been paying attention.
Thing the first: I have graduated. Thus my bachelor's in English is ancient history. Also I studied quite a bit of history. That was fun. I planned to graduate in May of this year, but my life took a detour. The education department at Texas State decided it would be for the best that I do not continue my education track and forego student teaching. Apparently I didn't quite cut the mustard, despite my exceptional grades and performance. This is just another incident in a long line of terrible ordeals I have suffered in the Education department. All in all it worked out though, and I am glad to be gone from that foul cesspool of a department.
I'm not bitter.
Thing the second: I can has girlfriend. Her name is Laura. She is wonderful. I'm very lucky to have her in my life and I'm very happy. You can ask me more in person; the internet is terribly inadequate in such matters.
Thing the third: Current Status. I am living with my parents in their palatial resort home of a parsonage in Liberty, Texas. It is much cheaper to do so than have an apartment for half a year in San Marcos or Austin. While it is quite difficult to keep ties with friends (especially Laura) I am coping. I have a job interview tomorrow with Crosby UMC for a Youth Director job, and I hope all goes well there. I know I have expressed disdain for youth work in the past, but times have changed. I'm very willing to confront this and welcome the challenge. That doesn't mean you can't laugh at me. I encourage your scorn. Yes.
That is all for now. More updates to come.
Mood: Cautiously optimistic
